Racing: George Washington's planned racecourse gallop at Southwell this afternoon has been cancelled.
Aidan O'Brien's 2000 Guineas and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes hero was due to gallop on the Fibresand at 4pm in a bid for experience on a dirt-like surface.
But due to extensive fog lingering around Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster, incoming aircraft can not be accommodated.
O'Brien's colt has only ever raced on turf but connections are considering running him on the dirt in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on November 4th.

The horse is instead expected to work at home in Ballydoyle this evening.
