Early yesterday morning, a young Cork woman was killed in a car crash in Tipperary. Gardaí in Cahir are investigating the single-vehicle collision which happened on the N8 at Skeheenarinky, Cahir, at 3.40am.

They have not released her name yet.

A few hours earlier, a young man and woman were killed in a car crash in Kerry.

Trevor Chute (23), Ballygologue Park, Listowel, and Eileen Keane (18), Well Road, Ballylongford, were travelling in a car when it collided with a mini-bus at Ardoughter, Ballyduff, at about 9.45pm on Saturday.

The driver of the mini-bus, which was not carrying any passengers, was taken to Tralee General Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

On Friday night, Karl Strong (20), Windy Arbour, Athboy, Co Meath, was killed in a crash at Proudstown, Navan.

The incident happened when his car hit a grass verge at about 11.30pm.

Earlier on Friday night, a 28-year-old woman was killed in a crash at Mount Seskin Road, Brittas, Co Dublin. Gardaí have not released her name yet.

She died when two cars collided at about 8pm. Five other people were taken to Tallaght hospital and St James's Hospital following the incident.
