Five men have been arrested by police in Belfast during an anti-counterfeit goods operation today that netted cigarettes and DVDs worth over £500,000.

During the operation a number of houses and cars were searched in the Markets area.

One of the cars was loaded with what are believed to be counterfeit or stolen cigarettes and the other with pirated DVDs.

PSNI Inspector Ian Blaney said police were fairly certain the goods were on their way for sale at the nearby St George's Market today and other outlets across the North.
