A Garda investigation has begun following the discovery of a “crude” explosive device under a car in north Dublin last night.

Army bomb disposal experts were called out to carry out a controlled explosion on the device which was was found under a car at Clonranald Road, Donnycarney at about 11.50pm.

The bomb disposal team gave the all clear at about 12.20 am.

The remains of the device were handed over to gardaí for investigation into the incident.
