EU ministers will call for the setting up of an international conference to help Haiti when they gather at an emergency meeting today, a spokeswoman for the bloc’s Spanish presidency said yesterday.
EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton will chair the meeting of development ministers from the 27-member group, said spokeswoman Cristina Gallach.
The ministers will assess the cost of providing relief for what the United Nations has described as the worst humanitarian crisis in decades, as well as rebuilding Haiti. – (Reuters)
