Soccer:Wolves striker Kevin Doyle has pledged his future to the midlands club despite speculation linking him with a summer move to Arsenal.

The Republic of Ireland international had an outstanding first season at Molineux after a club record €7.7million move from Reading.

The 26-year-old played a major role in Wolves surviving in the Premier League and is happy to pledge his allegiance to Mick McCarthy’s side.

Doyle said: “Nothing has changed. I am very happy here at Wolves.

“It doesn’t mean you are not ambitious and want to play at the highest level.

“But I am happy here and have enjoyed every minute of it.

“It is a pleasure to play for Wolves. All of the players get on so well together and with the manager and everyone.”

Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has claimed “Doyle is ready to play with a great team” but the striker is not over-concerned.

He said: “I am sure he was trying to give me a bit of confidence. He’s always been good to me ever since he took the job. I don’t suppose he was ever going to say anything else.

“It would be unusual for a manager to say the opposite. It’s nice to hear but I don’t get too carried away with it.”
