The young man who died following a single vehicle road accident in Donegal yesterday was named last night as Mr Declan Duffy (20), from Downings, Co Donegal.

Mr Duffy was a passenger in a car which left the road at Barnes Lower, Termon, on the Carrigart to Kilmacrennan road and crashed into Lough Salt, at about 9.05 a.m. Mr Duffy was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival. Another male, the driver of the car, was also taken by ambulance to hospital, but was discharged a short time later.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them at Milford Garda Station, tel: 074-9153114.
