RACING:Celestial Gold, winner of the Paddy Power and Hennessy Gold Cups in November 2004, has been retired.
Connections of the David Pipe-trained 10-year-old made the decision following the gelding's disappointing performance at Cheltenham on Saturday.
Owned by David Johnson, Celestial Gold won five of his 18 starts and amassed a total of €335,644 in prize money.
