Former Irish EU Commissioner Mr David Byrne has been appointed as a non-executive director of Irish Life & Permanent.
Mr Byrne served as EU Commissioner with responsibility for Health and Consumer Protection from 1999 to 2004. Prior to becoming EU Commissioner he served as Attorney General for two years.
David (57) has been a Senior Counsel since 1985 and was a member of the International Court of Commercial Arbitration from 1990 to 1997.
