One person was injured after a loud explosion rocked the Israeli city of Tel Aviv tonight, but police have already ruled out Palestinian involvement.

Reports suggest that the explosion was a criminal attack on an underworld figure.

"It looks like it was a criminal incident," police spokesman Gil Kleiman said. "A motorcycle drew up and threw something and we have one seriously wounded person."

Israel Radio reported that a hand grenade was thrown at an ice cream stand in an attempt to kill an underworld figure, who was not identified.

The suicide bombing undermined a ceasefire Israeli and Palestinian leaders declared at a summit in Egypt on February 8th.
