Two armed robberies in south Dublin investigated

Raids involving gun and knife in Rathfarmham and Sandyford thought not to be related

Gardaí are investigating two armed robberies in south Dublin which both took place just before 5pm.

The first occurred at a convenience store on St Enda’s Drive in Rathfarnham when a single male armed with a handgun threatened staff before escaping with an unspecified amount of cash.

At about the same time, another convenience store on Blackglen Road in Sandyford was targeted.

On that occasion a man with a knife took a quantity of money before escaping on a yellow motorcycle.

The two robberies are not thought to have been connected and nobody was injured in either.

Investigations are under way and any witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact gardaí or through the confidential line on 1800 666 111.
