Three for court over Co Wicklow burglary

Dunlavin homeowner disturbed raiders after alarm was activated yesterday afternoon

Three men are due in court today in relation to a burglary at a house in Dunlavin, Co Wicklow yesterday afternoon.

The owner of the house had returned home after the alarm was activated and disturbed the intruders. The raiders fled the scene with some cash. Gardaí were alerted to the incident shortly before 2pm.

Subsequently gardaí and the air support unit arrested four men in their late teens and early 20s a short distance from the house. They recovered a shotgun and a small amount of cash. The four men were yesterday held at Bray Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

One of them men was released yesterday evening and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Three of the men are due before Tallaght District Court today to be charged in connection with the incident.
