Sleeping pills worth €42,000 seized in Dublin’s inner city

Discovery of Zopiclone made on Rutland Street part of wider Garda operation

Gardaí have seized €42,000 worth of the sleeping tablet Zopiclone in a planned search of a premises in Dublin’s north inner city.

The discovery was part of a wider operation in the area targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs, conducted by gardaí from Mountjoy.

The seizure was made at about 11am at a house off Rutland Street. No arrests were made.

Zopiclone is a medicine used to treat sleeping difficulties and it has been seized by gardaí in previous raids.
