PSNI investigate after Ballymena shooting incident

Northern Ireland police appeal for witnesses after shots fired at vacant house in Antrim

The PSNI are investigating following a shooting incident in the Fort View area of Ballymena, Co Antrim at about 2.20am this morning.

The incident involved a number of shots being fired at a vacant house in the area. A red Honda Accord, alleged to have been involved in the shooting, was found burned out on the Lisnevenagh Road outside the town a short while later.

Det Chief Insp Natalie Wilson said: “This type of attack is totally unacceptable and there is no place for this type of activity in a civilised society. I know that the vast majority of people in Ballymena do not support those responsible.”

The PSNI are appealing for anyone with any information on the incident to call in to any police station or to contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
