Man arrested over murder of Eddie Hutch in Dublin

Suspect in gangland killing last February can be held for seven days

Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with the murder of taxi driver Eddie Hutch in February.

Mr Hutch (58) the brother of gangland figure Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch, was shot dead in his home at Popular Row, Dublin 3 on February 8th.

His murder has been linked to the ongoing Hutch-Kinahan feud which has claimed six lives this year.

It is believed he was killed in revenge for the murder of David Byrne during a gun attack on the Regency Hotel in Dublin.

The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested in the Dublin area and is currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at Mountjoy Garda station.

He can be held for up to seven days.
