Man (37) dies after car crash in Co Tipperary

Four others taken to hospital after two vehicles collide near Roscrea

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a car crash near Roscrea in Co Tipperary in which a man was fatally injured.

The 37-year-old was a passenger in a car which was in collision with another car on the R445 road at Tullaskeagh at 7.30pm.

He was taken to University Hospital Limerick but was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car in which the deceased was travelling, who is in his early 70s, was taken to hospital and the three male occupants of the second car were taken to University Hospital Limerick with what gardai described as non-serious injuries.

The stretch of road near the scene of the crash has been closed to allow for a technical examination and diversions were in place on Sunday afternoon.
