Large amount of alcohol stolen from Dublin warehouse

2,580 cases of Jameson whiskey taken in an aggravated burglary in Ballyfermot

Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary at the Parkwest Industrial Estate in Ballyfermot last month in which a large amount of alcohol was stolen.

Two employees were working at the warehouse on Friday, November 14th, when two men entered the building armed with iron bars.

They forced the employees to open the loading bay. At least three more men arrived and the employees were tied up.

The raiders used two 40 foot trucks to steal a substantial amount of alcohol. Gardaí believe that this stolen alcohol will be offered for sale in the run up to Christmas.

Some 2,580 cases of Jameson whiskey were stolen with each case being made up of six 700ml bottles.

Each of the cases stolen has one of these three batch numbers: L428112153, L428312172, L428016141, with each bottle having a corresponding batch number on the rear of the label.

Cases of Bombay Sapphire Gin and Jack Daniels Whiskey were also stolen. There are no batch numbers available for these cases.

The trucks left Parkwest between 4pm and 4.30pm, travelled along Killeen Road up to the junction of Nangor Road where they went left towards the Long Mile Road, turned right on to the Naas Road and headed in the direction of the Red Cow roundabout. It is not known whether the trucks travelled onto the M50 or continued out the N7 towards Naas.

One of the trucks had a red cab with a bank of spotlights along the top with a white solid 40’tri-axle container.

The other had a white cab with a trailer with a blue curtain.
