Man in his early 40s collapsed outside building on Guild Street on Thursday evening

Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses after a man collapsed and died on Guild Street in Dublin 1 on Thursday evening.

The man, in his early 40s, collapsed outside a building on the street. He fell onto the road and was helped back onto the footpath were passersby assisted him and administered First Aid and CPR.

The man was brought to the Mater Hospital where he subsequently died. A postmortem is due to be carried out.

There were a number of people on the street at the time and Gardaí are seeking their assistance in relation to the incident.

They are asking anyone who may have been on Guild Street between 5.30pm and 6pm on the evening of Thursday, February 4th and witnessed this man or can assist with the investigation are asked to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 6668000, the Garda Confidential Telephone line 1800 666 11 or any Garda Station.
