A renewed appeal for information on the whereabouts of Fiona Pender on the 25-year anniversary of her disappearance has been issued by gardaí.

Ms Pender was last seen at 6am on Friday, August 23rd, 1996 at her flat at Church Street, Tullamore.

Her disappearance has been the subject of a sustained Garda investigation by a team based at Tullamore and Portlaoise Garda stations.

“No person has been brought to justice for the disappearance of Fiona at this time,” gardaí said on Monday.

Ms Pender was described as being 5ft 5 in height, with long blonde hair and was 25 years of age. She was wearing bright coloured clothing and white leggings and was seven months pregnant at the time of her disappearance.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who met, saw or has any information in relation to her disappearance on the morning of August 23rd some 25 years ago who has not spoken to gardaí to come forward and speak to the investigation team.

Gardaí also continue to appeal to any person who may have previously come forward who felt they could not provide them with all the information they had in relation to the matter at that time, to now come forward.

“An Garda Síochána appeals to anyone with any information, no matter how small or insignificant you might believe it to be, to contact Portlaoise Garda station on 057 8674100, or any Garda station, or anyone who wishes to provide information confidentially should contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111,” the Garda said in a statement.
