Cannabis worth €750,000 seized and man held in Kilkenny

Plants found after premises searched in Glenbally Valley in south county

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of ¤750,000 pending analysis were seized in Co Kilkenny yesterday.

A premises was searched in the Glenbally Valley area in the south of the county by gardaí from Thomastown and Mooncoin and a male in his 40s was arrested. The seizure is part of an ongoing investigation.

The man is being detained at Thomastown Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
