Limerick 0-12 Cork 2-09: Two late goals for Cork averted a major upset at the hands of Limerick in the Munster Senior Football Championship semi-final at the Gaelic Grounds.

With minutes to go Cork trailed by three points after youngster Ian Ryan shone in attack for Limerick.

A shock looked on the cards but the Rebels were saved by quickfire goals from Daniel Goulding and John Hayes and it was the homeside left in disbelief.

The headlines will be dominated by the dismissal of Kerry captain Paul Galvin who, on seeing a second yellow, slapped the notebook out of the hands of referee Paddy Russell before exchanging words with the linesman and team-mate Tomas O'Se.

Clare's John Hayes and Conor Whelan were also sent off, the latter given a straight red.

Clare were in touch at the break thanks to three points from David Tubridy but Kerry found another gear in the second period as Colm Cooper struck his first goal of the campaign.
