A 30 year old man remains in Garda custody in Cork after being found in possession of a pistol yesterday evening.
The man was stopped and searched by grdaí at around 10pm last night at Barrack Street in Cork city.
He was arrested and taken to the Bridewell Garda Station where he is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
He can be held for up to 72 hours.
