Fears that Cork's Nicolas Murphy and Anthony Lynch would miss next month's Munster semi-final through injury eased this morning with reports from the county suggesting both should be fit.

Murphy was taken to hospital after Saturday's challenge match against Laois while Lynch also retired injured during the same game.

However, with five weeks to go before Conor Counihan's side meet either Tipperary or Limerick it would appear the initial prognosis is good for the players.

Murphy shipped a heavy knock to his hip and, despite needing crutches afterwards, it is believed he sustained only bruising.

Lynch, on the other hand, has been nursing a groin problem in recent weeks and is optimistic it should clear it time for the championship.
