French President Jacques Chirac has reassured his partners in the European Union that France's commitment to the 25-nation bloc was not in question despite its rejection of the EU's planned constitution.
He said in a letter to other EU leaders that member states should continue the ratification process and that the analysis of France's vote should start at an EU summit this month.
