Central Council will meet on Saturday to discuss issues of discipline, the GAA confirmed this afternoon.

The  unscheduled meeting will concentrate solely on considering the issue of discipline, lack of respect for authority and the application of the current disciplinary structures and procedures by units within the parameters of the existing rules," a statement said.

GAA president Nickey Brennan said he hopes the meeting will lead to an acceptance that lack of discipline in Gaelic Games will not be tolerated.

The Management Committee will meet also on Saturday and it will put forward its views for consideration of Central Council.
