The Cabinet is to hold its final meeting before it breaks for the summer at Farmleigh House, the home of the Guinness family recently purchased by the State for £23 million, writes Mark Brennock

The meeting in the Georgian/Victorian mansion on the edge of Dublin's Phoenix Park will take place on July 26th, following which there will be no scheduled Cabinet meeting until the end of August. The Cabinet will also hold a special all-day meeting on July 21st in an attempt to clear outstanding Government business. This will be the first Cabinet meeting to be attended by the nominee Attorney General, Mr Michael McDowell.
