Mr Brian Parker, a former head of information services at the Departments of Health and Environment in Northern Ireland, has been contracted to act as press officer for the Church of Ireland.
A native of Arvagh, Co Cavan, Mr Parker will be based in Belfast, with responsibility for managing the full range of press services for the church as well as providing support for its diocesan communications officers.
