Bush protests: main events in Dublin and at Dromoland Castle

A range of demonstrations have been planned to coincide with the visit of President Bush to Ireland this weekend.

A range of demonstrations have been planned to coincide with the visit of President Bush to Ireland this weekend.

Buses are being arranged from major towns and cities to the two main protests, in Dublin on Friday evening and Dromoland Castle on Saturday morning. Details available on www.irishantiwar.org and www.stopbushcampaign.org

Dublin - Stop Bush Protest March on Government Buildings, starting at Parnell Square, 7 p.m. Organised by the Stop Bush Campaign and supported by Irish Anti-War Movement, NGO Peace Alliance, PANA, SIPTU, ATGWU, Green Party, Labour, Sinn Féin, Socialist Party and Socialist Workers Party.

Galway city - Protest by the Galway Alliance Against War, City Hall, 7 p.m.

Waterford City - Protest begins at 7 p.m. in John Roberts Square.

Tralee - 7 p.m. assemble, Brandon Hotel,

Sligo - 7 p.m. assemble at the Town Hall.

Shannon - No War, No Bush Anti-War Ireland Shannon Demonstration 7p.m. Assemble in Shannon Town centre for March on Shannon Airport to coincide with the arrival of Mr Bush.

Saturday, June 26th:

Main demonstration organised by the Stop Bush Campaign at Dromoland Castle and Shannon Airport from 10 a.m.onwards.

Dublin - 4 p.m., Picnic for Peace, Phoenix Park.

Lahinch - Bushwalk For Fun supporting a sustainable peaceful existence. A 25-mile walk from Lahinch beach, beginning at dawn, to summit venue at Dromoland Castle
