'Raunchy' club left homeless

A Galway nightclub which was the subject of a Garda complaint over a raunchy show last month has been left homeless following a decision to ban it from the Black Box Theatre, which is owned by the City Council.

Club Outstageous, which provides entertainment featuring dancers on podiums, was at the centre of a controversy following a complaint to gardaí concerning one of its shows.

The club, whose website asks people to leave their "notions and inhibitions at home", has staged three to four shows a year at the Black Box for the past three years.

Last month's complaints related to a simulated sex scene between two scantily clad women which, the organisers claimed, was a re-enactment of a scene from the film Paris Texas.
