Bank of Ireland has apologised to customers for problems with its online banking service today.

Customers have found the  www.banking365.ie site inaccessible for much of today.

A spokeswoman said she could not immediately explain the reason for the technical problems but apologised to customers for any inconvenience.

The bank's technical staff are currently investigating the matter.
