BRITAIN: The British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, and his wife Cherie arrived in south-western France yesterday to begin a three-week holiday, which had been delayed after Mrs Blair suffered a miscarriage earlier in the week.

The couple arrived in Toulouse aboard a British Airways flight and then headed to Le Vernet, a sleepy village about 20 kms to the south.

The Blairs are staying with French friends at the Moulin, a chateau complete with swimming pool and a tennis court.

The French Prime Minister, Mr Jean-Pierre Raffarin, is expected to take a break from his own holidays in the French Alps to meet Mr Blair. - (AFP)
