London - The British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, and the Chancellor, Mr Gordon Brown, will play leading roles in the funeral service for Donald Dewar, it was announced yesterday. Mr Blair is due to read an Old Testament passage from Isaiah on the theme of social inclusion, while Mr Brown will deliver the principal tribute to the Scottish First Minister who died on Wednesday from a brain haemorrhage, aged 63. His funeral at Glasgow Cathedral on Wednesday is expected to be the largest event of its kind since former Labour leader John Smith died and will be broadcast live on the BBC.
