Baritone to sing at St Ann's

Roland Davitt, an award-winning baritone, gives a recital at 8 p.m. today in St Ann's Church, Dawson Street, Dublin.

Mr Davitt (25), is an honours graduate of the DIT Conservatory of Music, Dublin. He has performed with Wexford Festival Opera, the Welsh Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera Ireland and in Ischia, Italy.

A former winner of Dublin Feis Ceoil's overall singing prize and bursary, he was awarded a postgraduate scholarship by the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, where he resumes his studies later this month.

In tonight's recital he will be joined by soprano Ailish Tynan. The accompanist is Deborah Kelleher.
