Armed men raid bank in Co Longford

Two armed men stole an undisclosed amount cash from a bank in Co Longford today.

Two armed men stole an undisclosed amount cash from a bank in Co Longford today.

The raid on the bank of Ireland on Main Street Ballymahon, happened at around 2.35 p.m.

The raiders threatened staff before making off in a Silver Honda Accord car which was later found burnt out at Boher, Streamstown, a short time later.

No shots were fired during the incident and nobody was injured.

The car is being examined by Garda technical experts.
