Pristina - A senior politician and adviser to moderate Kosovo Albanian leader, Mr Ibrahim Rugova, was shot dead in an ambush at his home yesterday, a colleague and international officials said.
The colleague, who declined to be named, said Mr Xhemajl Mustafa was shot four times - twice in the head - and died on his way to hospital in the Kosovo capital Pristina.
There was no immediate indication of who was responsible for the attack. International officials had feared there could be an outbreak of politically motivated violence after Kosovo's first post-war elections last month, won by Rugova's party.
