AA warns on bank holiday road safety

AA Roadwatch has urged all road users to be safety conscious this evening as a busy bank holiday weekend comes to a close.

In Kildare, the motoring body said there would be heavy volumes on the N7 northbound between Naas and Johnstown.

A traffic management plan will be in place from 9pm tonight until 6am tomorrow southbound on the N7 between the Statoil garage & Kill junction. No delays are anticipated, however.

In Clare, a charity cycle heading for Kilkee via Miltown Malbay on the N67 may affect evening traffic.

Traffic is also expected to be busy on the N9 from Kilkenny, where the Cat Laughs festival has been taking place. The event finishes this evening.

AA Roadwatch also warned motorists to expect delays on the N11 northbound approaching Gorey. The same road is also busy northbound at Wicklow.

The Garda is also continuing a major traffic operation targeting drink-driving and speeding.
