Cox's Bazar - At least 60 fishermen were missing, feared drowned, after their boats sank in the Bay of Bengal during a storm yesterday, police and the fishing community said.
"Seven boats carrying 112 fishermen sank in the storm. Fifty-two of them were rescued by other boats but 60 are missing and may have drowned," said Mr Kabir Ahmed Sawdagor, president of Cox's Bazar Fishing Boat Owners' Association.
