More than 100 people have been questioned by detectives following the death of Mr Brian Murphy (18), of Ardilea, Clonskeagh, Co Dublin, in an incident outside a south Dublin hotel last Thursday.

A Garda spokesman said the investigation was continuing and statements were being taken in Donnybrook station and in the homes of witnesses to the attack. The dead teenager was assaulted by a group of young men outside Club Anabel at the Burlington Hotel at about 3.20 a.m.

He had earlier attended the club. A post-mortem revealed he died of head injuries.

The removal of Mr Murphy will take place to St Therese's Church, Mount Merrion, today, arriving at 5 p.m., and the cremation will take place tomorrow in Mount Jerome after 11 a.m. Mass.
