From Monday until June 24th at Galway's An Taibhdhearc, Liam Heffron's controversial play The Tinker's Blade tells the story of jurors deliberating the fate of a member of the Travelling community accused of murder. Thursday is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, and if you feel like getting out of the leaba, head for Bonane Heritage Park in Kenmare, Co Kerry, or Newgrange, in Co Meath, to welcome the sunrise. Féile na Gréine is the solstice arts festival at Waterville's new arts centre, Tech Amergin, from Thursday until Saturday 23rd. Cashel International Celtic Festival runs from Thursday until July 1st. For two weeks from Tuesday, Cork Midsummer Festival combines theatre, dance, music, visual arts and circus. In Offaly, there's Shannonbridge and Clonmacnoise Mid-Summer Festival while in Bruff, Co Limerick, there's the Lough Gur Summer Solstice Festival. Both run from Thursday until June 24th.

The British Superbike Championship comes to Mondello Park, in Co Kildare, today and tomorrow; Donegal International Rally is in Letterkenny. From Wednesday until June 24th, the 51st Sea Angling Festival takes place in Westport. The EU Boxing Championships start tomorrow at the National Stadium, Dublin 8. Waterford take on Cork in tomorrow's Munster hurling semifinal.
