Valuation day at Sotheby’s Dublin

Men who bought expensive watches during the boom but who are now strapped for cash might be interested in a valuation day at Sotheby’s Dublin office on Tuesday (July 15th). Joanne Lewis, London-based Head of Watches’ is in Ireland seeking “fine timepieces” for sales in London, New York, Geneva and Hong Kong.

She’s especially interested in Patek Philippe, Rolex, Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Breguet. Last year, an Irish client consigned a rare Reference 5131 by Patek Philippe, with cloisonné enamel map of the world, which Sotheby’s sold in Geneva for CHF 118,750 (€95,580). The market is mainly for men’s watches.
