Ite O'Donovan, choir director

Choir directors all over the country are at their busiest this week; one of the most ambitious is Ite O'Donovan , director of the Lassus Scholars and Piccolo Lasso, always captivating, especially when they combine to join adult and children's voices. At the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin 9, tomorrow, Piccolo Lasso will gather under Ireland's largest Christmas tree to sing carols at 2pm. The two choirs will later sing the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at 7.45pm at Adam and Eve Church on Merchant's Quay, Dublin.

On Monday, Piccolo Lasso sing carols at the Lord Mayor's Concert in the Mansion House; on Tuesday and Wednesday, they appear at the Bank of Ireland in College Green at 1.15 pm and on Thursday at St Teresa's Church in Clarendon Street at 6.05 pm.

On Christmas Day they will sing Haydn's Nelson Mass at Adam and Eve Church at 11.30 am with a small orchestra and guest soloists ("the church has wonderful acoustics," she assures us).
