The international silent book contest

First there were silent discos. Now the literary world is getting in on the act. Words are not enough to congratulate illustrator Brian Fitzgerald whose silent book Bounce has just won the first edition of the International Silent Book Contest, a contest expressly dedicated to illustrated books without words – the new name for picture books. While ostensibly a children's book, it is open to people of all ages, Fitzgerald explains. It will be published by Carthusia Edizioni in September and is sure to be a big hit with libraries everywhere. brianfitzer.ie Alanna Gallagher
