Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
On Saturday and Sunday, 8am until 5pm, Ballymount Ave will close between Ballymount Rd Lower and Calmont Rd, for overlay of existing surface. Alternative routes: Ballymount Road Lower, Ballymount Rd Upper, Calmont Road.
From 7am today until 5pm on Friday, temporary road closure on Ministers Rd/Church Rd in Lusk for resurfacing. The closure will also affect residents in Dun Emer and Chapel Farm Estates from exiting via Killhedge Lane.
KILDARE:
Diversions on N4 at Kilcock - traffic diverted on to slip roads. Temporary traffic lights on R148 and R407 on approach to Kilcock from N4 and Clane. Traffic to and from Kilcock use the existing Pitchfordstown Link Road as usual. Diversion until end of December. Eastbound traffic diverts 200m east of Pitchfordstown Link Road junction and on to new slip road and divert down new on ramp and rejoin N4 for Maynooth/Dublin. Westbound traffic diverts off motorway immediately west of Courtown/Clane overbridge, on to new slip road, across new bridge, down new ramp and rejoins N4 200m east of Pitchfordstown Link Road.
M4 Kinnegad -Enfield-Kilcock Motorway opened on Monday.
GALWAY:
Park & Ride at Ballybrit Race Course, running every 15 minutes from 7.30am until 9pm each day.
SLIGO:
Road reconstruction on Pearse Road from Pearse Road/Mail Coach Road Junction to Pearse Road/Cairns Road Junction.
CORK:
On Kinsale Road Roundabout beams being put in place on new flyover until Saturday morning, 9pm to 7am each day. East/west, and west/east traffic unaffected. Traffic from South City Link Road (City Centre) will divert at Roundabout east to South Douglas Road and back in, passing Vernon Mount and on to the Airport and Grange Frankfield.
Until Christmas roadworks on N71 from Inishannon. Stop-go system from 9am until 6pm, from Tuesday to Saturday.
Park & Ride available at Black Ash Car Park and runs every 15 minutes to the City Centre.
KERRY:
Killarney: free car parking at Lewis Rd car park, High St Car Park and Jimmie the Masons Car Park until end December, for Christmas traffic.
LIMERICK:
Until December 19th Canal Bank on Reboge (south side) by Canal Bridge closed. Diversions in place.
TIPPERARY:
Until Friday diversions on N8 in Cashel from urban remodelling. N8 southbound traffic diverts one way along Main St. Northbound traffic diverts to a one-way system along back of Pipes Rd. HGVs must use by-pass.
TRAVEL INFORMATION:
Luas has late night weekend service during the Christmas period.
- Red Line services depart Connolly every half hour from 1am to 3am, depart Tallaght every half hour from 1am to 2am incl.
- Green Line services depart St Stephens Green every half hour between 1am & 3am, depart Sandyford between 1am & 2.30am.
