Routes to avoid around the country
KILDARE:
Diversions on N4 at Kilcock, traffic diverts to slip roads until end December. Temporary lights on R148 and R407 on approach to Kilcock from N4 and Clane. Kilcock traffic use existing Pitchfordstown Link Road. Eastbound traffic divert 200m east of Pitchfordstown Link Road junction on to new slip road and divert down new on ramp, rejoin N4 for Maynooth/Dublin. Westbound traffic divert off motorway immediately west of Courtown/Clane overbridge, on to new slip road, across new bridge, down new ramp and rejoin N4 200m east of Pitchfordstown Link Road.
CORK:
Today Knapp's Square will close from 5am to 5pm until Saturday for works.
Tomorrow Friars Walk closed from Pearse Road to Tory Top Park from 7.30am to 6pm on Saturday for resurfacing.
This weekend the following will close: Lavitt's Quay, Popes Quay, Cathedral St (inbound) Mulgrave Rd (inbound)Carroll's Quay (inbound) Christy Ring Bridge. From midnight Friday to 6am Saturday closed for preparation for the journey of light (Turas an Solas). On Saturday from 7pm to midnight Sunday it will close for holding the journey of light ceremony.
Until early 2006, due to ongoing works between Macroom and Ballymakeera on N22 it is necessary to close the road outside peak times, from between 9:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Saturday.
Until Friday, Market St, Kinsale closed.
TIPPERARY:
Until Friday December 16th, diversions on N8 in Cashel, for urban remodelling. N8 southbound traffic diverts one-way along Main St. N8 northbound traffic diverts on to one-way system along back of Pipes Rd. Heavy goods vehicles must use by-pass.
LIMERICK:
Until December 19th Canal Bank on Reboge (south side) adjacent to Canal Bridge closed.
SLIGO:
Until at least December 19th, road reconstruction on Pearse Road from Pearse Road/Mail Coach Road Junction to Pearse Road/Cairns Road Junction.

Bus Éireann Nightrider service extended from regular weekend timetable to six nights a week, Monday - Saturday, over the festive period. Services between Dublin and: Navan, Drogheda, Newbridge, Wicklow and Enfield.
- Newbridge Nightrider departs Busáras at 00.30hrs and 03.30hrs, returning Dublin, buses depart Newbridge at 01.20hrs and 04.20hrs via Naas, Sallins and Clane.
- Drogheda Nightrider departs Busáras at 24.00hrs and 03.00hrs, returning Dublin, buses depart Drogheda Bus Station at 22.45hrs and 01.45hrs.
- Navan Nightrider leaves Busáras at 00.30hrs and 03.30hrs, returning Dublin, buses depart Navan at 01.45hrs and 04.45hrs.
- Kilcock/Enfield Nightrider departs Busáras at 00.30hrs and 03.30hrs, returning to Dublin, buses depart Enfield at 01.45hrs. Buses depart Kilcock at 01.55hrs and 04.55hrs.
- Wicklow Nightrider departs Busáras at 00.30hrs and 03.30hrs, returning Dublin, buses depart Wicklow at 01.45 hrs and 04.45hrs. Tickets for Nightrider services are between €7 and €10.
