Routes to avoid during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Temporary traffic management system came into operation last Sunday on St Stephen's Green.
St Stephen's Green West will be closed to all traffic for a 10 to 12 week period for reconstruction work. Two-way traffic will be introduced on a temporary basis on St Stephen's Green South, East and North.
St Stephens Green/College of Surgeons car parks: access will be via Glovers Alley or York St. for traffic from St Stephens Green North. Access from Aungier St/Georges St will be unchanged. Extra priority will be given to Public Transport.
Traffic from Sandyford Industrial Estate travelling west on Blackthorn Drive is not allowed to turn right at the new traffic lights onto the Drummartin Link Road.
In association with this right turn ban, the sequence of the traffic lights at the Blackthorn Drive/ Drummartin Link Road will be altered to allow more green time to traffic coming from the Industrial Estate.
KILDARE: Oxegen festival at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, on Saturday and Sunday (July 10th and 11th). Heavy traffic on approach routes. Full details on directions to the event are in the News and Advice section of our website at AA Roadwatch.ie.
Traffic re-aligned in Maynooth between Main St and Tesco on the Dublin Rd due to watermain works until end of July The works will be underway from 7am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday. There is no parking on the section of roadway as a result of the works. Use an alternative route if possible but there should not be too many delays.
KILKENNY: Resurfacing works will take place on the N9 at Ballyhale today, between 7.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation and traffic delays are expected.
WEXFORD: Roadworks are underway on the N25 between Glenmore and New Ross between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation and long delays are expected. The works will be in place until the start of August.
GALWAY: Pipelaying works continue on Barna/Galway Rd the R356 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day until September 28th. Traffic is down to one lane so expect delays.
SLIGO: College Road closed to traffic for the construction of the Inner Relief Road. The section from Gallows Hill to Summerhill College will become a cul-de-sac. Temporary access is being provided to St Joseph's Hospital, Garden Hill via the Nazareth House driveway.
TIPPERARY: Works continue on the N7 near Birdhill - they they will be in place for another two months. Traffic control measures are in place and significant delays can be expected.
CORK: For the next 3 weeks the road between Waterford County Bounds and Kilmagner on the N72 is closed.
The Jack Lynch Tunnel will be closed to traffic overnight from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m, today, tomorrow and Friday to facilitate scheduled maintenance.
Tomorrow St Finbarrs Cycling Club is holding Time Trials on Patrick's Hill. The event will require the closure of the following roads from 6.45 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Patrick's Hill, Audley Place, Wellington Road, Hardwick Street, Popes Road, Rathmore Park and Old Youghal Road.
