Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Lane restrictions turning onto Harcourt St from Hatch Street or Charlotte Way. Lane restriction causes bad delays on South Circular Road during rush-hour. Single lane closures for north and southbound traffic between Loughlinstown Roundabout and Cabinteely on N11, in off-peak hours to complete Wyatville Interchange and N11 Quality Bus Corridor. Raheny Road in Lusk closed until midnight January 31st. Alternative route: Horestown via Effelstown to Lough Commons and return. Road closure is to build a culvert.
Northern access on Sandyford Rd to Sandyford Village closed temporarily from 6 a.m. Friday until Tuesday, February 3rd, for construction of newly realigned Sandyford Rd tie-in to existing roads. Only southern access to the Village. Traffic diverted via Hillcrest Road/Sandyford Road and vice versa.
Northbound lane restrictions on N1 at Walshestown exit. Traffic diverted to hard shoulder, so get into lane early. Restrictions at Walshestown exit in Balbriggan heading North. Works moving along N1 until Gormanstown. Single lane traffic for about four kilometres. 40 mph speed limit. Traffic restrictions. Expect delays.
KILDARE: Temporary traffic diversion on N4 west of Kilcock. Westbound traffic diverted towards the central reserve via concrete barrier corridor to make room for the new bridge. Eastbound traffic moved towards hard shoulder. Diversions while new bridges on new Kilcock to Kinnegad bypass are built.
WEXFORD: Works on N30 New Ross Ring Road. Stop/go system in place. Delays expected.
LEITRIM: Road re-alignment on N16 about six miles west of Manorhamilton. Temporary traffic lights, and road narrowing. Expect delays.
LIMERICK: Restrictions on Rutland Street at Bank Place (N20) for essential work. Delays expected for traffic heading towards Corbally and Dublin.
TIPPERARY: Diversion southbound on N8 outside Cashel. Northbound traffic unaffected. Southbound traffic diverted via Duala Rd. Works will link new bypass to old road.
WATERFORD: Works and traffic lights on the Cleaboy Rd.
CORK: Patrick St one way from Merchants Quay to Grand Parade. No entry to Patrick St from Grand Parade, no left turn from Academy St onto Patrick St and no left turn from St Peter. Paul's Place onto Patrick St and Faulkners Lane one-way from Patrick St. All city centre northbound buses in Cork operating via Grand Parade & South Mall: northbound passengers use Merchants Quay Bus stop instead of Patrick St stop.
Shandon Street one-way outbound, diversion signs will be in place. Liberty St reversed one-way from Courthouse St to North Main St; Courthouse Street is closed until 6 p.m. January 30th. Oliver Plunkett Street Lower one way from Clontarf St to Custom House Street.
Robert St and Watercourse Rd closed until further notice, Marlboro St and Cook St closed until 6 p.m. January 30th.
