Further reductions on Hybrids as part of scheme

HYBRIDS AVAILABLE under the scrappage scheme include those from Toyota, Honda and Lexus.

In the case of the Toyota Prius, the total VRT is €3,700, but with the allowance of €2,500 given to hybrids off the VRT, this drops to €1,200. As this is all that remains in terms of VRT on the Prius, this is its scrappage allowance under the scheme. This means the price the Prius drops by €1,200 to €24,795 under the scheme.

The same is true of the Honda Civic Hybrid and the Insight. The remaining VRT is €913 in the case of the Civic Hybrid, €719 in the case of the Insight SE and €848 in the case of the Insight ES. This will reduce the price of these cars to €21,659 for the Insight and €22,962 for the Civic Hybrid.

Also qualifying is the Lexus RX Hybrid, which starts from €54,000 under the scheme, a reduction of €1,500.
