Council rejects scheme of 161 apartments in Chapelizod

Dublin City Council has refused permission for an apartment scheme in Chapelizod. Woodgreen Property Partners was seeking to build 161 apartments and duplexes on the site of Faulkner Industries at Chapelizod Hill.

The developer planned to demolish the factory and replace it with apartments and duplexes in four apartment blocks ranging in height from two to five storeys.

The council refused permission on five grounds, including the fact that there was a high proportion of one-bedroom units and the failure of the developer to adopt sustainable methods or to apply energy conservation measures.
