Inglenook Wood is a small development on a two-acre site at the M50 end of Glenamuck Road, Carrickmines, in Dublin. Surrounded by mature trees, the estate, which launched earlier this year, when complete will comprise 12 apartments and 14 houses.

Weston Homes, a firm that developed Old Town Walk in Naas and Hayfield in Maynooth, is bringing the last six semi-detached houses to market along with nine of its 12 apartments. The estate takes its name from the house Inglenook, one of two that stood on the grounds.

Built to a traditional brick-fronted design, the homes have window and door surrounds of reconstituted sandstone and Edwardian-style Carlson casement windows with very fine frames that add a decorative element as well as allowing lots of light through.

The three-storey, four-bed properties measure 176sq m /1,896sq ft in size and with the staircase set in the centre the living room is neatly divided from the open plan kitchen set to the rear.

At launch last February, prices for these homes started from €675,000. For this second phase homes are priced from €715,000, an increase of 6 per cent in seven months. There are two end houses in the mix. One is seeking €730,000, the other, with a wider back garden, is €775,000.

The apartments here will appeal to downsizers. These are also housed in a brick-fronted building and each of its three floors features three units; one one-bed, one two-bed and a three-bed unit. Each has a fine terrace that measures about 18sq m and has fine views of Three Rock and the Dublin Hills.

Hooke & MacDonald is the selling agent with one-beds of 57sq m/ 619sq ft starting from €335,000 for the ground floor unit to €375,000 for the property on the top floor. The two-beds measure 93sq m/1001sq ft and range in price from €445,000 to €495,000. The three-beds measure 103sq m/1114sq ft and are priced from €515,000 to €575,000.
