Buying in Cape Verde:A final phase of 376 apartments and villas in the Paradise Beach Resort on the island of Sal in Cape Verde has just been released by Cape Verde Developments.

Sal is one of the Cape Verde islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Senegal; direct flights from Gatwick to the international airport on Sal began a few weeks ago.

The colonial-style homes range from one-bed penthouses from €120,000; two-bedroom apartments, from €140,000; three-bed semi-detached villas from €225,000; and large villas with granny flat, garage and private pool, from €700,000. The homes will have air-conditioning and nearby swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants and hotels. Due to be completed in 2010, payments are staged until then. The African island was a Portuguese colony until 1975 when it gained independence. It has become a holiday destination with flights just starting from the UK and Ireland (about six hours).
